Triggering Contemplation, Free Education, Spreading Great Stories
Why is it that qualities inherent in the greatest benevolent leaders and heroes of human history are often the first to be criminalized within working-class societies? The Tumbleweed Organization believes that the key to a free society is free people- yet, in America today, there still exists a great disparity between access to the lessons that get us there.
The Tumbleweed Organization provides tools for seeing the context of our history and experience with clarity, while providing lesser-exposed populations opportunities for growth that have often existed just over the horizon. Prior to the end of the 20th century (and perhaps since the beginning of civilization), social-class divisions have largely determined access to education, literacy, and personal liberation. Today, digitalization has opened the gates to cherished teachings of the greatest scholars, artists, religious leaders, and subcultures of our history. We intend to archive many of these here. This pursuit has also lead us to partner with institutions and teachers to provide extraordinary opportunities for those without access to adequate educational and contemplative resources in their own communities. Join us on the adventure. Contribute to our ideas, links, and discourse.
Glad to meet you,
The Tumbleweed Organization
Note: The Tumbleweed Website is currently under construction. We are in the process of developing a publication and related web resources. The final site will have a grand-opening in early 2010. Until then, we are interested in meeting individuals and organizations with shared aspirations. Email us, keep an eye on frequent posts to our Assemblage, and join our mailing list.
